Opportunity: STEAM Instructor

Looking to join the APL Team? We are looking for an enthusiastic STEAM instructor to lead birthday parties and after school classes for children aged 4-12. This position is perfect for someone who benefits from a collaborative team environment, but also thrives when working independently. We are seeking an applicant who is confident leading groups of children through activities, and has strong classroom management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Access to a vehicle and a G license

  • Vulnerable Sector Check 

  • First Aid Training

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading birthday in-lab parties. 

  • Leading travelling birthday parties. 

  • Teaching after school classes in-lab.

  • Helping with camps taking place in-lab.

  • Preparing party/class materials

  • Lesson planning for after school classes

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Experience teaching/instructing groups of children

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Enthusiastic attitude

Availability/Compensation

  • Full time (35-40 hours) beginning on August 11th, with an option to start part-time (16 hours) in July.

  • Full time schedule will be Wednesday-Sunday.

  • MUST be available to work weekends and weekday afternoons/evenings.

  • Starting at $20/hour, raising up to $22/hour after 3 months
