THEMES for kids turning 4

Bubble, fizz and erupt! These are the sounds you’ll hear all throughout this super fun, interactive birthday party.

Following a brief introduction to the science behind volcanoes, each child will be led in a step-by-step process to build their own volcano diorama by making their own play-doh (wheat based), shaping it into a volcano, and then decorating it with craft materials that we provide. After the diorama has been complete, the group will learn what happens when acids and bases mix, as we use these materials create mini eruptions in our volcanos. All guests will get to take home their volcano dioramas for endless amounts of eruption fun.

Using planet-shaped globes as their template, we provide the kids with a variety of space-themed materials, including colourful sand, sparkles, sponges and kid-friendly glow-in-the-dark paint to get their hands engaged and their brains thinking creatively towards their own unique interpretation of an undiscovered planet. At the end of the party, each guest will be able to take home their own piece of the galaxy they imagined!

This activity involves, filling their sticks with various food materials such as rice and beans and then decorating the outside with craft materials such as stickers, tape and crayons. In addition, all of the kids will get the chance to reveal a secret picture that will only appear using none other than...rain! By the end of the party, each child will take home their very own personalized rainsticks and their watercolour pictures.

Does your kiddo like Dinosaurs? Is it their greatest wish to find a fossil or dinosaur bone? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you must have a budding paleontologist on your hands!

During this birthday activity, we will briefly discuss the fossils and their importance to archeological research. Each child will then get to make their own body fossil using a dinosaur figurine and plaster. Then, it’s off to dig for fossils in our lab’s fossil sandpit. Once we have discovered some fossils, we use them to create trace fossils in large Petri dishes. By the end of this expedition, your birthday guests will leave with two different types of fantastic fossils, which are the perfect addition to any bookcase museum!
