Camp FAQ
-
Yes! If your child’s school has a PA day or break coming up and you have a group of parents interested in a camp, please get in touch with us at info@theactionpotential.ca
-
Parents must provide lunch and snacks for their children. Each day we have 2 snack breaks as well as a lunch break.
Please note that Action Potential Lab is a nut free facility.
-
We do our best to ensure that each week is new and exciting for all our campers!
If we see that a child is signed up for multiple weeks, we aim to make sure that the theme for those weeks are different so that the child gets a unique experience.
-
We love to play outside, and we believe important learning happens outdoors.
There are two parks that we visit during camp! The first one is Marian Engels Park where we do activities some mornings. The second is Hillcrest Park, which we visit daily for recess.
During recess in the summer, children with splash pad permissions will have the opportunity to cool off in the splash pad/wading pool at Hillcrest Park.
-
Similar to a Montessori school, we use a vertical learning structure when we work with mixed-age groups. Kids are seated with others their own age, but we are all learning together in the same room and are focused on the same themes/concepts. We design all our science and art experiments and activities so that they are scalable based on the specific ages and abilities of the children attending.
-
Each child should pack a lunch, and enough snacks for 2 snack breaks.

Sunscreen (summer)
Mess shirt or smock
Campers should wear comfortable clothes that they can get a little messy in
Please keep toys at home, unless it is necessary for comfort

A change of clothes is always a good idea
