Action Potential wouldn't be the awesome place it is without our incredible educators. But who are these science superstars, these creativity champs?
We sat down with them to find out what makes them tick (people tick, right?)
Meet Jen Fryer, our resident amazing artist. Jen loves teaching cool art techniques, creating beautiful art and (as you can see above) making new friends.
Who is your favourite scientist?
Who is your favourite artist?
What do you love most about art/science?
Science allows us to learn about our universe! Even though I don't always fully understand all of the new discoveries and breakthroughs I read online or hear in podcasts, I enjoy learning about new things because it enriches my understanding of my place in the universe.
Art allows us to tell stories. Stories about ourselves, and who we are, and what we feel, and it can also give us a glimpse into the stories of other people- their philosophies, feelings, and histories, and the narratives of times and places unfamiliar to us.
Both art and science allow for a great deal of curiosity, experimentation, and discovery, which is why I love making time for both in my work and my life.
If you had a superpower what would it be?
What is your favourite thing about Action Potential?
I didn't know how much I needed volcano explosion experiments in my life, until I started working here. Now I can't imagine a life without them!
